Marketing for Private Clinics in Qatar
The single biggest clinic search in Doha is «عيادات الدوحة»: 5,400 searches a month, ahead of 4,400 for “clinic doha”. Yet five of the seven clinic sites we measured had no Arabic on the page at all.

- The biggest search is Arabic. 5,400 a month for clinics in Doha, at $0.58 a click against $0.80 for the English term.
- English still has more searches overall. About 7,600 a month across six terms, so both languages need their own campaigns.
- Clinics lose their own data. Of seven clinic advertisers we measured, two had no tracking and two had tracking that never fired until the visitor moved.
- Some pay to advertise someone else's page. Four of the 13 clinic advertisers we identified send ads to a directory profile or have no site of their own.

Semrush, Qatar database, September 2026. Estimates — treat the ordering as reliable and the absolute figures as approximate.
English carries more searches in total, about 7,600 a month against about 6,000 in Arabic. But the largest single term is Arabic, and it is cheaper per click. A clinic that treats Arabic as a translation of its English campaign is missing its biggest search.
Specialty searches are smaller and more decided. Someone searching for physiotherapy or a gynaecologist already knows what they need, so the page can answer one question instead of listing every service.
Four ways clinic advertising loses its own data
We measured seven clinic advertisers in Qatar, two of them veterinary, plus a large hospital group and a clinic advertising through a directory. These are the patterns we found.
- Advertising to a page you do not own. One clinic sends its ads to its profile on a medical directory. The page, the tracking tag and the enquiry all belong to the directory, which also shows “similar doctors” on the same page.
- Tracking that waits for a gesture. Two clinics had tracking installed that a site-speed plugin held back until the visitor moved or scrolled. Anyone who left without touching the screen was never counted.
- Forms that accept anything. The hospital group's homepage carries three forms with nine fields between them, and none is required. Half-finished submissions arrive looking like real enquiries.
- No Arabic. Five of the seven clinic sites had no Arabic text on the page we measured.
The first is the costliest. When you advertise a page you do not own, every improvement you pay for benefits someone else. Here is how we measured these sites.
What we would change first
01
Own the destination
What we do: build the landing pages on your own domain, one per service.
Why: the tag, the audience and the enquiry stay with you.
Your directory listing: keep it for the free traffic it brings. Paid traffic goes to your own page.
02
Arabic and English, separately
What we do: an Arabic campaign written in Arabic, with its own pages and budget, next to the English one.
Why: the biggest clinic search in Doha is Arabic, and its clicks cost less.
What you get: a cost per booking in each language.
03
Specialties by name
What we do: separate campaigns for specialties such as physiotherapy and gynaecology.
Why: these searchers already know what they need, so the page can answer them directly.
What you get: the budget going to the services you most want to fill.
Sending a confirmed appointment back to the ad platform without exposing patient data is covered in first-party data and consent mode.
Patient rules, data and contact
- Healthcare advertising rules. Qatar's Department of Healthcare Professions has circulars on advertising and social media use by healthcare practitioners (01-2021, amended by 01-2022, and 03-2019). We agree the wording with you before launch. Read the circulars.
- Patient data. What goes back to Google or Meta is a booking signal, never medical details.
- Phone and WhatsApp. Most clinic sites we measured offered both. Each tap is counted as a conversion.

Common questions
Should a clinic in Qatar advertise in Arabic or English?
Both, in separate campaigns. English has more clinic searches in total, about 7,600 a month against about 6,000 in Arabic. But the biggest single search, «عيادات الدوحة» at 5,400 a month, is Arabic and costs less per click. Most clinic sites we measured had no Arabic page to send it to.
We are listed on a medical directory and it sends us patients. Is that bad?
The listing is fine. Paying to advertise it is the problem. The directory owns the page, the tracking and the enquiry, and it shows other doctors next to you. Keep the listing for its free traffic and send paid traffic to a page you own.
How much does clinic advertising cost in Qatar?
Clinic clicks in Qatar run from about 40 cents to just over a dollar. On top of the media budget there is our management fee, quoted separately. We set the budget after the first call, from the services you want to fill.
Which platform should a clinic use?
Google Search for people already looking for a clinic or a specialty. Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok for services people discover before they search. We judge every platform on booked appointments.
How long before we see results?
Enquiries start once campaigns go live. Judging the campaigns takes a few months, because the bidding needs enough recorded bookings to learn from. We ask for a three-month minimum.
